The pigments are ground very finely into a surfactant base and then mixed with an acrylic binder to make the product completely waterproof. Due to the combined and mixable colors of the extensive color palette, wet-in-wet painting techniques are possible and the metallic tones ensure great effects. The iridescent color can be mixed wet or dry with any color in order to let it duck in pearl. A dilution with water is possible, but extends the drying time and weakens the water resistance of the ink after drying. We therefore recommend the addition of (max. 25%) Matisse Ink Extender, since it does not affect these factors. The Metallics Offer Interesting Additions and Effects Due to the Different Surface Tension of these Colors. The Iridid ??Can Be Mixed Wet Or Dry With Any Color To Make It Pearlescent. Matisse Inks Can Be ThinNed with Water Adding to Their Versatility, However We Recommend An Addition of Matisse Ink Extender Whter Resistance is Required as The Thinning With Plain Water Lower the Amount of Acrylic Binder Present, Weakening the Ink's Water Resistance. Adding Water Alone wants increate the drying time. Up to 25% of Matisse Ink Extender Can Be Added for Thinning.
